A Michigan mother whose two young children were found alone in a filthy home pleaded guilty to all seven charges stemming from their abandonment, but she could withdraw the plea depending on the sentence she receives. Police said the boys, ages 3 and 4 and both with special needs, were found in February surrounded by trash and human waste, with one reportedly eating “raw, spoiled meat” while the other hid on a bedroom floor. Farmer is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 19 after requesting a Cobbs evaluation to hear an estimated sentence before fully committing to the plea.

A Michigan family says they were horrified when they arrived for the viewing of Kimberly Kaye Moore and discovered a different woman’s body dressed in their mother’s clothes, hair and makeup. Moore’s daughter, Bianca Robinson, said she immediately knew it was not her mother after noticing a missing mole, and the family says a funeral home employee told them Moore may have already been cremated. The funeral home has apologized and launched an internal investigation into how the alleged mix-up occurred.

The DNA analyst testified that several samples, including those from a doorknob, vehicle armrest, clothing, light switch and sink area, were consistent with Caleb Flynn, while the defense highlighted that DNA testing cannot determine when it was deposited and that some mixed samples contained unidentified DNA.

A Florida father is accused of kicking and repeatedly slamming his 11-year-old daughter’s head into the floor after she continued playing on her iPad past bedtime, according to police. Husain Maki Habib allegedly smashed the iPad with a hammer and threatened to throw his daughter off a balcony; the girl was later treated for minor contusions.

An 83-year-old Florida man is accused of fatally shooting his chronically ill wife after she allegedly begged for her pain to stop for 45 minutes. According to police, Walter Edgerton told investigators he placed a .22-caliber revolver against Sandra Edgerton’s head and pulled the trigger before calling 911 and saying, “Believe me, she’s dead, no CPR is going to help her.”
