A judge has rejected Lindsay Clancy’s motion to find her not guilty, ruling that the prosecution provided enough evidence to proceed on criminal responsibility charges.

Key Details:

Not a guilty verdict or a guaranteed retrial.
Double-jeopardy claims and other post-mistrial issues are still unresolved.
Next court date: November 2.

Traveling right now, but I’ve been looking into the situation involving AS and the stepson. I always give a victim benefit of the doubt but we also have to be smart about the way we put this stuff out here. Research first.

I want to be transparent about what I’ve found while remaining fair. I can’t say whether his claims here are true or false. However, public legal records show a pattern of multiple *pro se* civil lawsuits filed over the years—including cases making claims of being forced into situations under duress (similar to what was described in the AS situation), as well as filings involving family members.

Having a legal history doesn't automatically mean someone isn't telling the truth. But since he chose to go on a public panel to share his side of the story, it’s worth looking at all publicly available context and documentation with an open, critical eye.

* see new post for an updated view. What a mess.

Right now we are hearing about the Cornell 7 and people want Jane Doe’s identity. This young man came to this panel and told his story and some people wanted to focus on BJ 🫩. This is how we treat victims on social media. It’s pretty sick. Yes - innocent until proven guilty BUT attacking victims tells other victims to never speak up. 💔. This man’s story was troubling. Whether he gets justice or not, we don’t know but if a 1/4 of what he said is TRUE - he deserves to be heard.

Shady, that's not how Pennsylvania law works. Under Rule 3123.1, you can only claim an exemption if the money comes from specific government-protected sources like Social Security or Workers' Comp.

Pennsylvania courts do not grant statutory exemptions just because someone argues that losing their commercial 1099 income causes financial hardship.

More importantly, Brittney is already past that stage. She didn't file a Sheriff's exemption form because she filed a formal Petition to Stay under Rule 3121, and the entire matter is now sitting on Judge Scanlon's desk for the September 22nd hearing. Perhaps if she’d replied to the numerous notices and filings she could have found a legal way to lessen this but she didn’t and the time has passed.
