Channel Update:

SCP-Y-1 shall continue despite being a target of YouTube's AI sweep and refusal to review and lift my demonetization while simultaneously refusing to explain why I got demonetized in any kind of detail.

A new video will release on Sunday, and the channel will continue to release videos at roughly a bi-weekly rate. I will continue to produce content, so I hope you'll continue to look forward to the videos!

I’ve officially launched a Patreon for SCP-Y-1.

Right now, the Patreon is fairly simple, but I’ve started building it out with material connected to the SCP-Y Archives. The main idea is to have a dedicated post for each SCP-Y anomaly, along with behind-the-scenes images/videos, unused or extra production material, and a few unreleased SCP-Y-025-style songs made for other anomalies.

It isn’t meant to replace the YouTube channel, and the normal SCP-Y reports will continue here as usual. Patreon is just an optional way to support the project more directly while getting access to some extra archive material along the way.

Also, all patrons will be featured in the credits at the end of future videos as a special thank-you for helping support the channel.

Any support through Patreon would be greatly beneficial in helping SCP-Y-1 continue — from producing more original reports, to creating visuals, music, narration, and everything else that goes into bringing Site-Y-1 and Provisional Reality-Y-1 to life.

Thank you all for watching, subscribing, commenting, and supporting the channel. It genuinely means a lot.

Important update about SCP-Y-1:

The channel was recently demonetized under YouTube’s “inauthentic content” policy. In the appeal rejection, one of the reasons given was that the channel allegedly contains “readings of other materials I did not originally create.”

That is factually incorrect.

SCP-Y-1 is an original SCP-inspired horror universe written and produced by me. The SCP-Y files are not copied from the SCP Wiki, and they do not exist as third-party source material. The anomalies, incidents, lore, narration, thumbnails, and video structure are created specifically for this channel. A rudimentary search on the SCP Wiki would quickly reveal that these are nobody's work but my own. The only places you can find these SCP files are on my YouTube channel, and the site I manage and store the files on so others can read if they don't want to watch my videos - https://sites.google.com/view/scp-y-c...

The rejection also referenced songs I allegedly did not originally create. My videos use music generated through my own creator tools and/or tracks from YouTube’s own copyright-safe audio resources. The few exceptions not from Youtube's audio library are also copyright free and cited in the descriptions of the videos they were used in.

"Highly repetitive content" was another accusation, but none of my videos are repeats, and each one contains completely new SCP content without recycling. Shorts aside, as they are intended to be clips of already made videos to get people interested, like any other channel's shorts, I implore anyone to find a video where I repeat myself and recycle my SCP files to milk content. You cannot find it. It does not exist.

"Image slideshows or scrolling text with minimal or no narrative, commentary, or educational value" my entire video collection is narration, storytelling, and commentary from beginning to end.

I'm not sure how to respond to any of these claims that YouTube is making if I'm already passing these marks. I'm hoping someone ‪@YouTube‬ may read this on my tiny little channel and perhaps consider changing this decision or at least provide some feedback for me to change and work on to avoid this in the future. Otherwise, I'll be re-applying for monetization 90 days from now. There's really nothing else I can do in this situation besides sit here and take this. There appears to be no recourse.

Thank you all for supporting the channel. I just want the channel judged on what it actually is: original horror fiction, not copied readings or mass produced(?) SCP content.

Hey folks, bad news. The SCP Foundation has issued budget cuts for Site-Y-1!

Sorry to say, we've hit the monetary limit for video generation on the channel. I will continue to make videos using images instead of video generation until the channel is capable of funding video generation by itself. I apologize if this is one of the reasons you enjoyed this channel. Video generation will be going away for a while, but assuming the channel keeps growing, it will come back in the future

I'm really late to this, but merry Christmas everyone! I'd like to thank you all so much for taking time out of your lives to watch my videos! It means so much to me that people are enjoying the content!
I wish you all the happiest of holidays! 🎄🎄🎄

Hey Folks! No delay this time, luckily! No, this post is just an update: I will be stopping the daily shorts uploads for a period of time and potentially extending indefinitely. I think people are enjoying the long form content far more, so I'll be focusing on that and putting the extra time toward ensuring my videos stop getting delayed as much as possible 😅

Experiencing technical issues, it's looking like there may be another delay, so no video this week. Should be fine for next week and onward though. On the plus side, there's a potentially awesome change incoming for Sora, the tool used for visuals on the channel! I won't blab on too much in a simple post, but if you're interested in seeing what kind of crazy stuff Sora is cooking up and will hopefully be an aspect of the channel in the future, search up "Sora 2" from OpenAI on YouTube!

Howdy folks! It's gonna be another delay by one week. I know, I do this too often, but this time, it's because I discovered that my microphone isn't being the best that it could be! Or even half of what it could be, really. Turns out the Shure SM7DB is kind of booty cheeks without an audio interface, because I just got one and DAMN did it sound better! However, the interface I got has incompatibility issues with the Shure mic, so I've ordered another that should be here soon! MUCH better audio quality is on the way!

Alongside that good news, I'm working on "something" akin to a creature many of us probably know without even hearing its name. Though, it's not quite as simple as it would seem...

Dang, I'm sorry folks, but I think I'm going to be delayed again. Sora AI, my tool for visuals, has been constantly going down, leaving me pretty far behind schedule. I'll try to make it by this Wednesday, but as it's been pointed out by many of you in my comments, it's likely best to delay for good quality over a rushed project. I put a lot of effort into making the files, so I don't really want to make a crap video for them either lol

Not really much else to the post, just sorry to delay so much

Hey folks! I might end up getting delayed by a week again, sorry! Once I start rolling on these files and get too locked in, sometimes I forget that they have to fit into a single video. I actually still have like 10 pages of DnD style items scripted to be part of the SCP-Y-027 file, but I didn't want to make everyone sit there listening to a theoretical idea of how the "Belt of Giant's strength" would work in real life, along with other random magic items for hours on end.

Here's a couple pieces of concept art for the upcoming anomaly! Not much to see, but that's why it's just concepts lol

Hey folks! Looks like this upcoming video on MTF Zeta-0 is going to be delayed by a day or two, should probably be uploaded by Friday. Hate to do this so frequently, but I'm trying to do quite a bit at once with this type of content, the free time just slips through my fingers. While you're here, I'd like to alert anyone reading that the video after this upcoming MTF one will take a bit to finish, could be 2~3 weeks. It's going to be well over an hour and requires several voice actors, so I hope you'll enjoy it when all is said and done!
