GreenValley has just delivered the LiGrip O2 Lite for testing. This pocket‑sized SLAM LiDAR will be put head‑to‑head against its competitors to see whether it can match the top‑tier performance of its bigger brother, the LiGrip O2. The video is scheduled for release next week and will include comparisons with the Pocket 2, SHARE C1, and S20.

Incoming review: CHCNAV RS30 SLAM LiDAR Scanner. Featuring the Hesai XT32M sensor with a 300 m detection range and a survey‑grade GPS antenna. Launched in March 2024—let’s see how it measures up against today’s competitors.

For those interested in learning LiDAR Scan to CAD with BricsCAD, I’ve released a 1.5‑hour step‑by‑step tutorial on Ko‑Fi. The course includes a 4 GB point cloud sample so you can follow along with a real project.

You'll learn:
Importing and setting up point clouds
Creating a georeferenced street map
Modeling floor slabs (suspended and slab‑on‑grade)
Interior wall creation
Door and window openings
Bathroom library setup
Ceiling modeling
Roof façade design
Column modeling
Tree library integration
Sunshade simulation
Generating 2D drawings
Plotting and final output

I just received the Manifold Tech RTK Module for the Pocket 2 LiDAR scanner. A full review will be out next week. Priced at $695, let’s see how it performs.

LiGrip O2 Review Incoming, a new SLAM LiDAR contender from Green Valley. Equipped with a Hesai XT32M 300 m range sensor, high‑precision IMU, dual visual SLAM cameras, and three panoramic photo cameras. Will it live up to the hype? I’ll be testing it over the next few days.

Heads up, everyone!!! BricsCAD is on sale with 15% off until month’s end! Big thanks to @skylowrider4360 for the tip. BricsCAD says they usually run this deal only twice a year.

Reverse‑engineering a Toyota 3000 GT taillight from an STL file.
The original model was provided only as a single‑sided surface with no thickness.
The reconstruction is being carried out in BricsCAD.
Tutorial coming soon.

New SLAM LiDAR contender just dropped!
Manifold Tech, a robotics company based in Hong Kong, has introduced the Pocket 2 equipped with a LiVOX Mid‑360 sensor and three 2MP RGB cameras.

I ran a quick test, and their SLAM algorithm feels rock‑solid. From what I can tell, all three RGB cameras are integrated into the SLAM process.

A full test is coming tomorrow. As for pricing, still no info, not even on their official site. Stay tuned!

Einstart 2 deep-dive review and comparison coming soon! Huge thanks to one of our awesome viewers for lending me this scanner.

This is the complete car body scan compiled from all four scanners. In the previous video, I forgot to include the S1 and Raptor Pro. The scans appear nearly identical—no clear differences are visible. Because car panels are large, with gradual shifts in geometry and minimal fine detail, variations are hard to detect. The purpose of this video was to evaluate the scanners’ endurance and measure drifting errors during the process.
