If you want to grow your Instagram to 50k as fast as possible, forget all the growth advice and just focus on this:

Nowadays so much content gets uploaded that people just forget you exist, which is really bad if you want grow (duh). 

But there's actually a simple way to use this to advantage.

Let's say someone watches a good Reel of yours, they keep scrolling and bam. 40 more Reels within 20 minutes happen. 

If you just post once a week - no matter how much of a banger you created - people will have seen 10,319 others that pushed you of existence in that week.

So yes, you just need to post more. I've actually studied my top performing clients and most of them compromised some quality for quantity. 

But here's the cheat-code part of this thing:

Most of the volume content just suckz, so it's actually not that hard to increase your quality and be instantly stand out better.

Here are a few easy ways:

• Use one consistent visual. Same studio, same light and vibe. If your content is valuable and they recognize your "set" or "vibe" the next time you pop up, you actually get a split second more attention, which can really make all the difference. 


• Have a signature object people will recognize. I used to have a golden mic and a leather jacket and let's say, I looked rather weird. 

People commented asking if I'd forgotten where I parked my ship, Captain Jack Sparrow. Kinda rude, but at least they remembered me.


• Do it the opposite way. People's pattern recognition and bullshit radar are at an all time high. Especially with the way algorithms work nowadays. Once you're in, you'll get bombarded by all the same types of content. 

In my mentorship we have an exercise where I have you map out your niche according to certain factors, and then you systematically go the opposite way in some of them. 

If you hit this contrast right, it can make you the top authority in your niche. 
 
Point being: once people recognize you before they read the hook, your hooks and everything starts to work better, because they already know the context.

The vape in the background of your Reel is suppressing your reach. It has nothing to do with your content. 👇

This one catches people completely off guard, because it isn't about what you're talking about.

Instagram limits distribution on a list of categories (tobacco and vaping, adult products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetic procedures, weight-loss supplements). 

Fine, you'd expect to get hit with that if you make content about them.

Except the detection doesn't care whether it's your topic. 

A vape sitting on the desk behind you. Filming while smoking a cigar because it looks good. Nothing to do with the video. Reach gets suppressed anyway.

And it gets worse if you're anywhere near health and fitness, because the classification is a little wonky. 

If you even dare to mention a supplement the wrong way, have the system decide it might be weight-loss related, you're in the restricted bucket without having said anything close to a claim.

What to do to make your Instagram safe:

• Scan what's in your frame before you shoot, genuinely, look at what's behind you
• If you're in health or fitness, tiptoe carefully around supplements (I had a client with a very known supplement get f in the a because of that, including lawsuits) 
• Avoid "risk-free" and similar language, especially with a business attached, meta hates this

Most people looking for their reach problem just look at their hook. Sometimes the answer is an actually object on a shelf. 1984 style.

When your Instagram reach dies, it's almost always one of these:

❌ Account health — your account is flagged, restricted, or sitting on a strike, and Instagram is quietly throttling your distribution. 


✅ Audience relevance — the algorithm can't find a common ground with the people who engage with you because your content strategy is all over the place.

That's it. Two buckets, everything else is a symptom of these.

Now, if your account health is compromised - more often than not it's saveable by just creating more of the right content (unless you were a really really bad kid and said some things you were not supposed say).

But it essentially all comes down to the same fix. Creating better content and getting more of the right people to stay and binge your stuff. 


The good thing is: as of the last 2 years it's almost ALWAYS possible to get back on top with the right strategies. Most people just quit too early.

Hashtags are dead. But I still use them. 

Because they actually do something not a lot of people talk about. Rank you in Search.

Now, in complete honesty I think Instagram SEO is massively overrated in the grand scheme of things, BUT it can really help you reach a super targeted audience that is looking for a solution. 

Which is exactly the data-points the algorithm needs to find your audience. 

This for example was a post I made, and it got me around 600 emails and it made $36,000 in clients enrolling in my mentorship. 

2 of them directly told me they found me in search through this video. 

The only reason it ranked so well? Hashtags. There you have it. 

So here's the gist to rank on search:

Identify a topic that people actively search for RIGHT NOW. Create content and 
include these keywords multiple times:
 
* in the caption
* in your text hook
* in your script

and then use this keyword as a hashtag. So for example: "productivity tips 2026" becomes #productivitytips2026 

It doesn't matter whether this hashtag has a lot of posts or not, but the algorithm for some reason takes this as a strong signal to rank you.

You could have the best hook on Instagram and still get buried. Here's why. 👇

Most creators obsess over details in their strategy: hooks, scripts, CTAs — while their Reels are technically broken before anyone even sees them.

The algorithm actually reads signals BEFORE it reads your genius. Get the hygiene wrong and the smartest content on earth gets throttled:

❌ Low-effort content that everybody has seen 100x
❌ AI generated scripts that feel lifeless
❌ TikTok watermark still on the clip (Instagram actively suppresses recycled content)
❌ Bad lighting, grainy footage or compressed, low-res export
❌ Hooks and content is too complex and speaks to too many people at once


✅ Export clean and native — no watermarks, ever
✅ Unique takes and value
✅ Hook targets ONE viewer with ONE problem

We recently had multiple clients massively increase their views by NOT using Claude / ChatGPT to come up ideas, hooks and scripts. The algorithm can tell. 

Another one went from 0-30k targeted follower because he increased his video quality / scene.

Detailed strategy is the second step. Technical hygiene is the entry ticket nowadays.

Deleting your "flop" Reels is the dumbest thing you can do on Instagram. 👇

"That one only got 400 views, let's delete it." Congrats, you just fired an employee who hadn't started their shift yet.

Because here's the thing nobody tells you: reach on Reels is DELAYED, especially in the past 6 months.

• The algorithm keeps testing old Reels for weeks
• A "dead" Reel routinely spikes days or even months later
• Delete it and you kill a distribution asset that was still cooking
• Your back catalog compounds - 40 average Reels can quietly out-earn one viral one

Plus - a bunch of "low performing" getting a few of the right view daily can turn into a snowball after a few months. 

A client from one of our last cohorts had a Reel blow up almost 2 months after she posted it. It sat there for a while without doing anything and suddenly BAM.


So stop judging Reels on the first 48 hours. Don't even judge them on the first week to be honest. Judge them over 4-6 weeks.
