20 pearls. 30 minutes. One ring.

I thought lining up a few long Keshi pearls would be easy.

It wasn't.

Getting naturally irregular pearls to sit this neatly took half an hour—and out of about 20 pearls, these were the ones that finally worked together.

Then the light hits them.

And somehow, you keep looking.

I also skipped the full pearl band on purpose. The slim stainless steel half-band lets your fingers bend freely, while the pearls do all the talking.

Big. Sculptural. Impossible to ignore.

Almost every pearl hair accessory uses imitation pearls. Unless it's made for a bride.

I know...most people can't tell if they're real.
But the light can.

Real pearls don't stay one color.
They change with the light—soft pink, champagne, blue... always a little different.

Once you've seen that, it's surprisingly hard to go back.

That's why I insisted on using genuine freshwater pearls.

And because I wanted this to last, I asked for an extra-thick gold plating on the copper hair pin, so it keeps its color about 3× longer than ordinary ones.
