“After a certain age, home is just like a battle,” Marc told Kris Needs. “It’s part of life. You have to establish your own identity. Parents want you to be carbon copies of them; they want you to follow the morals that they learned 30 years ago. It’s funny because I get on really well with my grandma because she will try and see that it’s 1983 and will listen to my ideas, but with my mum it’s like a battle – not that I hate my mum, just the opposite. I really love her and I think she’s great, but it’s still a battle all the time. My mum wants me to be a certain way and I don’t want to be like that.”

Happy New Year everyone! 2022 was both an incredible and difficult year for Soft Cell and it wouldn’t have been possible without your support. We are delighted to have Dave back at home after months of hospital treatment and can’t wait to see him and Marc prepare for the live shows that lie ahead.
