Here are some words that describe the internal life of a perfectionist. If you find yourself living under them on a regular basis, you can embrace a healing journey: ttps://markdejesus.com/cpbook

What is Christian Perfectionism? Its a mindset and lifestyle based on performance, with a PRESSURE that communicates intensely that you need to DO MORE and DO BETTER to get your standing with God, "Just Right." It's a life of "just right but never enough that you were not designed to live with.

I invite you to join me on the healing journey: https://markdejesus.com/cpbook

This is what condemnation produces and NONE of it is how God in Christ Jesus relates to His children. #nocondemnation

Proofs are in. New book coming out very soon on paperback, hardcover, kindle and audio!

Because of health issues I have been wrestling with for months, its been about two months since I have been able to put together a teaching video. I have kept up on doing many live Q&As, but this was a first in a while and its a topic I have been wanted to share about for some time.

If you’ve ever cried out, “God, I need help and I need it now,” or found yourself desperately rushing from crisis to crisis, looking for a quick fix for your anxiety, OCD, depression or other mental health battle, this conversation is for you. I know what this feels like, but I want to speak into this to help your healing and freedom journey.

In this episode, I’ll share vulnerable moments from my own journey, including seasons where I felt beyond my limits and how those desperate moments became a wake-up call to embrace a long-term healing and freedom journey instead of chasing temporary relief. I talk about what feelings of desperation can mean for your mental health, your relationship with God and how you relate to your own thoughts and emotions.

I’ll unpack how desperation often feeds hopelessness, helplessness, self-pity, self-loathing, catastrophizing and a rejection mindset, distorting how we see God and our struggles. We’ll look at how a desperation-fueled spiritual life can be fueled by religious pressure, performance, and “just right but never enough” beliefs and how we can recalibrate our hearts into real and long lasting transformation can take place, one step at a time.

If this resonates with where you’re at, I invite you to tune in, take a deep breath, and let this be an encouragement to see your desperation not as the end, but as an invitation into deeper healing, grace, and emotional maturity.

There will be no Sunday live for this weekend, but we plan to be back next weekend with new Bible study and more topics to address for your mental, emotional and relationship health!

Thank you all for your continued prayers as I embrace a lighter schedule and allow my body to heal through the health issues I am working through. If you want to know more about what is happening with me, be sure to check out last Sunday’s broadcast: https://youtube.com/live/7VvBONwC5gU?...

A large percentage of questions I receive revolve around a person's assurance of their salvation and standing with God. This is not a new problem, but has been around since the early days of the church. Masses of people struggle with this and end up going through endless cycles of trying to "fix" their standing with God. They become driven into compulsive behavior.

I have committed myself to helping people understand that the "problem is not the problem." When you keep cycling through these doubts and fears, you are engaging an obsessive compulsive pattern in how you relate to this subject. This needs to be addressed from an obsessive compulsive standpoint, instead of compulsive patterns of reassurance seeking, re-praying and ruminating over Scriptures under duress.

I have created a number of resource pages, with materials to help you work through the battle of Religious OCD, often called Scrupulosity. This is about a new journey of how we relate to these disturbing thoughts in renewed ways.
