David (KY4GM): The Rugged Radio Renegade Big-hearted, big-framed, and big on living life off the grid. Whether he’s wrangling wild airwaves with his ham radio rig, casting a line into a quiet lake, or hunkering down with budget-friendly storm preps, David’s always got a plan — and it probably involves fire, frequencies, and fun. He’s a 45-year-old dad with a passion for camping, bushcraft, and a dash of YouTube creativity (check out 2 Beards and a Plan and Frequency Frontiers). He’s hunting more than DX contacts — he's also on the lookout for a long-term connection, the kind that sticks like pine sap on a flannel shirt. In short: If it involves nature, gear, or good stories told by firelight or over the air, David’s your guy. What’s one piece of gear you never go camping without — even if you're just out for a night?
